PCO (Photo - Catalytic Oxidization) is a technology that has existed for many years. The principle is that when UV (Ultra-Violet) light reaches the TiO₂ coating, a powerful oxidization mechanism is activated. This system not only kills fungi, mold, bacteria, and viruses (eg. SARS), but also decomposes odors and VOCs (Volatile Organic Compounds) like benzene and formaldehyde.
